I started working at Hulu in October 2020 and I've been absolutely loving my experience here. Working on exciting campaigns and learning about the streaming and OTT industry is something I have always dreamed of. Creative testing is one of my greatest fascinations so I love that I am able to put that to use in my role. Learning the impact that creative on Paid Social has on a title is so interesting and I am beyond excited for everything I have to learn as I grow in this role!
I interned at ViacomCBS from June 2019 to April 2020. I worked on a wide range of projects but some highlights include helping to create graphics and headline stories for the Nickelodeon International e-Newsletter. I also helped with the international launch of The Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Geocaching by creating promotional graphics and supporting internal distribution. Lastly, I assisted in designing decks for Viacom International Studios such as the creation of a sales deck for MIPCOM!
I interned at CNN from January 2019 to May 2019. It was an amazing experience and let me gain exposure to a company that I never thought I would have the chance to be a part of. At CNN, I assisted the Creative Brand Marketing and PR team in creating media lists. I also did a lot of local research on events going on throughout the city to help our events team plan. In addition, I assisted in coming up with effective ways for the team to efficiently transition with the move from Columbus Circle to Hudson Yards!
I interned at NBC Universal from September 2018 to December 2018. During my time here, I was lucky to work with an small team that took the time to teach me the value in the work I was doing. My work focused on ratings and utilizing Nielsen to gather data used for reports. I also assisted in putting together one-sheets for the sales teams' use. There was a great combination of qualitative and quantitive research that helped me learn how to use analytics to think strategically and creatively.
I interned at Showtime Networks from June 2018 to August 2018. While I interned for the Audit team, I was able to learn so much about the Marketing world. The internship program had a group project for the summer interns so I chose the project that revolved around Marketing. My team and I worked together and analyzed the media landscape to determine how Showtime could get more millennials to tune into its channel. I specifically worked on utilizing Photoshop to redesign the Showtime app to be more user-friendly. We also conducted market research to have tailored results.
The T. Howard Foundation has truly changed my life. It has allowed me to get my foot in the door into the media world and is a big part of who I am. I always valued the importance of diversity in media and the foundation allowed me to have a proper outlet for this. I recommend applying to be in the final talent pool, a mentor, a mentee, or a host company to everyone because I know how much the people I have met because of the foundation have changed my life.
